Glanua

Sustainable Business Transformation

Integrated strategy — driving impact + long-term value

Glanua is an industry leader in providing innovative and sustainable engineering ‘turnkey’ solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure across UK and Ireland. Originally established in 2008, the company now employs over 550 people – with headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Ireland, and offices in London (UK) – focused on solving today’s environmental challenges, and delivering a decarbonised and sustainable world.

Glanua understood that companies in its sector are among the largest contributors to global greenhouse emissions. Their regulators and customers were also demanding more sustainable solutions. To maintain relevance, Glanua needed to develop a completely new way of working, delivering positive sustainability impacts in commercially-effective ways.

Earthshine Group was commissioned to develop a market-leading sustainability strategy, which would enable Glanua to deliver sustainable business growth (decoupling) – while meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders – supported with a comprehensive roadmap to deliver a value chain transformation over the next 10-15 years.

♦ PHASE 1: STRATEGY DESIGN. Aligning with customer targets + integrated with business strategy.

♦ PHASE 2: INTEGRATION. Engaging + activating Glanua teams, customers + suppliers.

♦ PHASE 3: IMPLEMENTATION. Deploying roadmap for value chain transformation.

♦ PHASE 4: ENABLING. Supporting teams + initiatives to deliver strategy success.

A new vision + model

Working closely with Glanua executives, employees and other stakeholders; we co-created a new vision and model of what it will take for Glanua to achieve sustainable business success – meeting customer targets and expectations, while also delivering commercial advantage:

  • Glanua becomes the go-to company — for full DBOM services in delivering net-zero, circular economy water assets.
  • Collaborative two-way dialogue through entire chain — harnessing technical, sustainability + commercial innovation.
  • Operating as a ‘resource custodian’ – looking after and enhancing resources + environment.
  • Integrating circular economy principles, innovative technologies + nature-based solutions.
  • Developing new ways of working – including ‘Rethinking Design’ to deliver net-zero projects.
  • Harnessing a new strategic advantage – reducing risks + costs, as well as reducing emissions.
  • Beyond compliance – sustainability as route to competitive advantage + authentic transformation.
